Lake Mburo National Park
The only park in the region with zebras and giraffes, with picturesque landscapes and diverse wildlife.
MapAn encounter with gorillas, chimpanzees, giraffes, lions and rhinos in the heart of Uganda.
This journey into the heart of Africa begins with a departure to Lake Mburo National Park – a picturesque park known for its green hills, lakes and rich variety of wildlife. In the very first hours of our adventure we will set off on a safari among giraffes, zebras, antelopes and buffaloes, as the sun sets over the savanna.
Then we will continue to the legendary jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – one of the last refuges of the endangered mountain gorillas. There we will visit the community of the Batwa tribe, ancient forest people who will reveal to us their traditions, rituals and way of life passed down through generations.
The climax of our adventure will be Gorilla Tracking in the dense jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Led by rangers and trackers, we will venture deep into the tropical forest in search of the majestic Silverback – the leader of the gorilla family. The encounter with the mountain gorillas is one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences in the world.
We continue to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park – the famous Ishasha Sector, where we will search for the rare tree-climbing lions, resting on the branches of the huge fig trees. This is one of the few places in Africa where such behavior of wild cats can be observed.
Our next stop will be Kibale National Park – home to some of the most intelligent primates in Africa. There we will enter the tropical forests of the park to look for wild chimpanzees, known for their exceptional social behavior, strong family bonds and impressive communication.
Our safari adventure will continue in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where we will meet the majestic white rhinos up close. Under the guidance of rangers we will enter the savanna on foot, and in the evening we will enjoy the tranquility of African nature among the lodges of the sanctuary.
In the final days of our journey we will visit the Mabamba Swamp and set off by canoe among the waters of Lake Victoria in search of the legendary Shoebill Stork. After that we will explore some of the most famous cultural and historical landmarks of the capital Kampala, among them the Uganda National Mosque, the Kasubi Tombs and the Uganda Martyrs Catholic Shrine Basilica.
Our adventure will end with an evening cultural program and a visit to the famous Ndere Troupe, where through music, dance and traditional rituals we will feel the true spirit of Uganda.
Further down the page you will learn which national parks, cultural sites and natural landmarks we will visit, as well as details about the prices, accommodation, transport and included services.

MapFor your stay in Uganda bring US dollars (USD) in denominations of $50 or $100, from the 2013 series or newer, without inscriptions, tears or stains. Smaller notes are not accepted. It is advisable to exchange part of the dollars into Ugandan shillings.
An international passport valid for at least 6 months after the date of entry into Uganda. A visa for Uganda (arranged and paid for by our company). A yellow fever vaccination certificate. European driving licenses are not valid in the country.
Although the government of Uganda has officially lifted the yellow fever immunization requirements, we at our company strongly recommend this vaccine. It is old, proven and has no side effects.
For travel within the country we use a comfortable safari van with air conditioning and a pop-up roof, which allows easy observation of wildlife during our stay in the national parks. Alongside it, a cargo van follows us, carrying our luggage and equipment so that we have maximum space and comfort on the road.
No special preparation is needed, since we travel in a specialized safari van. Summer clothes and a light raincoat just in case are enough. The use of insect repellent is recommended.
Different equipment is required – long lightweight clothes, hiking boots with good grip, a raincoat, repellent, gloves, a mask, water and energy foods. Patience and a physical readiness for a trek in the jungle are needed. Keep in mind that we will move through dense undergrowth and humid tropical vegetation.
(Please note that Gorilla Tracking requires a special permit with a limited number of visitors per day – which is why it must be booked two months in advance.)
